Two Fishermen and the mermaid

There were two brothers from Camotes Island named Pepe and Hermie; Pepe had really large eyes and his brother huge ears. They went for a job on a fishing boat here in Danao City. The captain asked Pepe, “What can you do?” Pepe replied, “I can look for the fish.” Then the captain said, “What about him?” Pepe in all seriousness answered, “Well Sir he’s my brother, so he’s got to come with me.” The captain replied, “Okay he can listen for the fish – just keep him out of my way.” They had been at sea for a week when the captain heard a yell of alarm from Hermie followed by splash and a loud noise. A beautiful mermaid had jumped on the boat’s deck right next to where Pepe was standing. The beautiful mermaid realized she was in the wrong place she then jumped back into the sea. Now I know my wife’s Uncle Pepe is known to take a nap or two of coconut wine and a teller of tall tales but to this experience of a life time he swears this did happen on one clear day near Camotes.
