Not a good day for some

Though job losses accelerated last month, the United States has not yet hit bottom. In a bleak report on Friday, the Labor Department said that almost 600,000 jobs disappeared in January. Now, couples employed by the same company are learning a similar lesson, the hard way. As layoffs mount across the country and in all sectors, couples who are co-workers are increasingly vulnerable to losing their families' twin sources of income at once.
