First day of 2009

Well we survived our first holiday season in our big house. When I say we survived that means the entire week between Christmas and the New Year. We are finally here after four years of hope, sweat and tears. It has been a challenge but for the grace of God we made it! All three of us are living upstairs while the carpenters and painters continue their work on the first floor. This means we’re far from being unpacked and far from being organized. But nevertheless it’s nice to be where our dreams have been made of. Belinda, Junior and I have so blessed and thankful. This past week we’ve sort of adopted Junior’s 14 year old friend Robert. He comes from squatter family in Danao City and they are not as fortunate as we – he’ll continue his education and help my wife as a helper whenever he’s not in school. Next week Beng’s cousin Nancy from Camotes should be here again to help out. The house is dusty and smells paint fumes but whose complaining we could be less fortunate as many are.
